CROWNS

What is involved in making a crown?

The tooth is reduced slightly in size to make room for the crown to cover the tooth.  After this, a digital scan is taken by the dentist where they design the soon to be crown. Once the design process is complete, the crown is then milled and furnaced on site, ready to be cemented all on the same day.

Maintenance of crowns…

A crown gets treated just like any other tooth. In order to ensure your crown lasts as long as possible, continue good at home oral hygiene and regular 6 monthly dental check ups.

Main crown types…

Ceramic crowns
Ceramic crowns are matched to the colour of the surrounding teeth and “shine” just like a natural tooth. They give the best aesthetic result.

Gold crowns
Gold crowns have been used for many decades and are still the strongest and most durable crowns.
